The Story of Green Skies
Green Skies was born out of a profound desire to create a brighter future for youths with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Founder Kitty Poon of LoveXpress recognised the untapped potential of aquaponics and realised that the intricate, detail-oriented, yet routine work involved in this field is uniquely suited to the abilities and strengths of these remarkable ASD youths.
However, Green Skies is not just about promoting green living or providing job opportunities for ASD youths. It is a social enterprise built on the core values of diversity, equality, and inclusion. We are committed to fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders to empower underprivileged groups in building sustainable pathways for their future. In doing so, we strive to create a meaningful and impactful ecosystem.
Organisation Structure
LoveXpress Foundation Limited (Charity File Number: 91/13813) was established by Kitty Poon in 2015. With a deep commitment to supporting families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), LoveXpress has offered a comprehensive range of services – from workshops to career support – that extend beyond just supporting the child.
Over the years, LoveXpress has established several social enterprises to support its mission, forming a self-sustainable ecosystem as part of its charity business model.
Green Skies has been uncovering new career opportunities for youths with ASD through the technology of Aquaponics farming. In addition to its many services, Green Skies supplies fresh vegetables to LoveXpress’ other sub affiliate, The Edible Projects to support underprivileged families in local communities.
The Edible Projects has two cafés and online retail food products that aims to create career opportunities for youths with ASD and promote inclusion within the community. Every Wednesday, interested parties can attend their charity lunches and witness the talents and potential of these hard-working individuals.
LEX Centre is a family-focused centre that provides professional therapy treatments and diverse support services for families with autistic children, helping them strengthen their knowledge and willpower for the many challenges ahead.
